Who We Are and Where We Work
We are your local elected council, dedicated to representing residents across the entire community, from Swffryd in the South to Bournville in the North. Our members are either democratically elected or co-opted to represent your views on a Ward-by-Ward basis.
We are a Statutory Body operating under the Local Government Act 1972.
Abertillery operated as a Town Council from 1974 until 1985. Following Local Government Reorganisation, the community opted to form a single Community Council, embracing both the Abertillery and Llanhilleth areas.
