We are delighted to announce that Abertillery was the runner-up in the Town Category of Wales in Bloom!
Achieving a Silver Gilt in our first year entering is an absolutely enormous achievement, and the tremendous work of Cllr Ralph Henderson MBE, Abertillery Aspiration Group, Abertillery & Blaina Rotary, TAFY- Tillery Action For You Ltd and all of the other amazing groups and volunteers cannot be understated.
Along with the main category award, our area saw many other successes:
Ebbw Fach Community Group – Level 4 ‘Thriving’ It’s Your Neighbourhood Award
Six Bells Hotel – Silver in category 12a (hotels, guest houses, public houses & restaurants – frontage only)
Ty Ebbw Fach – Silver in category 12a (hotels, guest houses, public houses & restaurants – frontage only)
Abertillery Learning Community – Level 3 ‘Branching’ School Category
Cllr Ralph Henderson MBE was also recognised as a Wales in Bloom Community Champion – of which four were selected in total across Wales!
