Important Info

  • No dogs are allowed on the pitch.
  • No bikes are allowed on the pitch – please leave them at the gate.
  • Alcohol is on sale by Abertillery Blaenau Gwent RFC. Alcohol cannot be brought in from elsewhere due to their licensing terms.
  • Please use the recycling bins provided.
  • First Aid and Security will be on site throughout the event.

Getting Here

  • This event is being held at Abertillery Blaenau Gwent RFC, Abertillery Park, NP13 1TU
  • Access to the car park is via Glandwr Street
  • Pedestrians can also access the venue via the footbridge from Morley Road, NP13 1TP
  • Please utilise car-sharing, public transport, walking, cycling or other modes of transport to help limit the impact on local residents.

FAQs

How much does it cost?

Everything is FREE- entry, inflatables, climbing wall, animal encounters & more! Only stallholders and food vendors charge (prices set individually).

Can we bring chairs or picnic blankets?

Absolutely! We can’t provide seating for attendees but encourage you to bring your own & get comfy

What if the weather is bad?

We’ll be there rain or shine! Some activities may change if the weather is bad – we’ll keep you updated on our website and social media. Please check the forecast and dress accordingly – think suncream, hats, umbrellas etc.

Can we bring gazebos, BBQs, or our own alcohol?

No gazebos or BBQs are allowed for safety reasons. Alcohol can be bought from RFC bars only – no outside alcohol allowed (licensing rules).

Why aren’t dogs allowed?

The venue is a designated sports field under a Public Space Protection Order (2022), so dogs are never permitted on the pitch for hygiene and player safety reasons.

Do I need to sign up for any activities?

No! All of our activities are free and no sign-ups are needed. Please wear sensible shoes if you’d like to try to the climbing walls though!

Can I bring a picnic/food?

Yes! We have lots of amazing food vendors lined up, or you can bring your own food and soft drinks (no alcohol can be brought in).

  • EventHigher – activity climbing wall with 3 challenges, and a classic 4-sided climbing wall.
  • Circus of Positivity – teaching circus skills.
  • Blaeddau Du – Viking re-enactments:
    • 12:45-1:15pm – Show and Tell, hunting parties, circles
    • 1:45-2:15pm – Kiddie Vike
    • 3:45-4:15pm – Combat (Shield Wall)
    • 5:00-5:30pm – Kiddie Vike (if time and demand)
  • Full of Bounce – inflatables and games.
  • AJ Entertainment – children’s entertainer from 12-3pm.
  • Drum Runners – junk drumming.

A variety of craft, charity and activity stalls will be attending. These include:

  • Stalls selling homewares, accessories, jewellery, toys, crochet items, wax melts and lots more!
