Why become a Community Councillor?
Being a Councillor lets you have your say, give back to your community and help improve your area.
Who can apply?
You must live or work within 3 miles of the Council area and be 18 or over. Please see our co-option notice for more information about exclusions.
We are looking for people who are keen to get involved with our projects and events.
What does it involve?
Council meetings are usually held at 7pm on the last Wednesday of the month, in the Council Offices in Abertillery and via Zoom.
You can also join committees to focus on what matters to you.
Our projects include:
- Wales in Bloom
- Party in the Park
- Defibrillators
- Parti Chwe Chloch
- Seasonal events
- The Viaduct Run – Ras Draphont
- Youth Work funding
