Each year, the Community Council secures £35,000 of funding from the company that runs Hafod-y-Dafal Solar Farm, for the benefit of the communities of the ALCC area. Council welcomes applications for a share of this funding from groups and organisations in the Community Council area.

Application for the 2026 Solar Farm Grant are open from 9am on 1st May 2026 to 12pm (noon) on 30th June 2026.

Who can apply?

Not-for-profit groups or organisations based in (or working substantially within) the Council area that haven’t received a Solar Farm Grant in the last 5 years.

How much can we apply for?

Between £5,000 and £35,000.

What sort of projects should apply?

Community projects which are sustainable, have a lasting legacy and will help improve the wellbeing of local communities will be prioritised.

Where does the funding come from?

Each year, Abertillery & Llanhilleth Community Council receives funding from the company running Hafod-y-Dafal Solar Farm (Lightsource BP) for the benefit of the local community.

When is the deadline?
