Our newsletters are published on our website and social media, and physical copies are displayed throughout the area on noticeboards, inside shops and in community centres.

Six Bells Party – Parti Chwe Chloch
In May, we hosted Blaenau Gwent’s first bilingual event, in collaboration with Menter Iaith and Tai Calon. We’d like to thank everyone involved and all of our attendees. We hope you had an amazing day and enjoyed the entertainment!

Town in Bloom
Thank you to TAFY for their hard work on our Town in Bloom project recently. Our hanging baskets are up around Abertillery town and our planters have had a refresh as well, ready for Wales in Bloom.
Grants awarded
From April to May, we awarded £15,768 to 7 different organisations, including Chillax and the Llanhilleth Institute.
An additional £8,164 of funding was awarded to local schools towards extra-curricular transport costs.
New defibrillator
We recently installed a new defibrillator on the Mount Pleasant Inn, Brynithel. We now maintain 16 24/7 accessible AEDs.
Free Summer Cinema
We’re funding 3 FREE film sessions each week during the Summer holidays, in The Met.

Abertillery Job Fair

Party in the Park
Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s Party in the Park at Abertillery Park! Thanks as well to AYDMS and Abertillery Blaenau Gwent RFC and everyone else who helped make this event happen.
Annual Meeting
Congratulations to our new Chair, Cllr Lucy Harmer, and new Vice Chair, Cllr Josh Rawcliffe!
£2,609.78 was raised last year for the Chair’s Charity: £1,076.13 for AYDMS, £1,076.14 for The Mitre and £457.51 for Urdd Gobaith Cymru. Funds will be raised for Abertillery Town Brass Band and Pentref Tyleri this year.
